The Stone Mountain Artists Retreat

With July ending, I wanted to take one more opportunity to thank everyone for their participation in July’s Wilkes Comic Con.

The Wilkes Comic Con began as a once-a-year event. It very quickly outgrew its original facility and then needed two events a year to meet with the community’s demand. Our attendees and our participants have expressed a desire for us to expand into other areas. After several discussions with our artists and vendors, we have developed a new event, The Stone Mountain Artists Retreat.

This retreat is a two-day program held here in Wilkes County at a beautiful 17-acre location with a spectacular view of Stone Mountain. The retreat will provide opportunities for artwork sessions and discussions that will cover topics ranging from social media and funding sources to trips, tricks, and advice regarding convention and festival setups. In addition, there will be a movie screening, trivia, and a fireside chat. The goal is for each of the attendees to share their knowledge and experience during a relaxing weekend full of nature, friends, and fun.

The Retreat is scheduled on September 2 – September 4, 2023. There is a limited capacity.

Tickets are $170 and include 2-nights’ accommodation and all meals.

Artists wishing to only participate in the Sunday programing can sign up for the Sunday Seminar for $70.
