July 2023 Pre-show thoughts

Hello again my friends. It seems we keep meeting like this, in the wee hours before the con. The last time we spoke was 140 days ago.

I started to write this post to summarize the work we have done in preparation for tomorrow’s event, but then I realized that I did a lot of that last time, and it’s hard to effectively summarize all the hard work that our team puts in. We do this twice a year and it’s a labor of love. From the Marketplace to the game rooms (note plural this time), to the cosplay contest, the panel rooms, and the food trucks, we work very hard to put on an event that showcases a wide variety of culture and talent.

And now… the stage is set. The actors are in place. The curtain is rising. All we need is you.

This year’s theme was a celebration of the Mandalorian. Our key art (which you may have seen on our posters) was painted by the amazing Amanda Miller of Manic Arts. We are often inspired by our friends and our family… and our fans. So we want to also take a moment to recognize Wayne and Eva who helped to inspire our theme for this event.

Now the clock is winding down, and very soon it will be time to open our doors for the show.

If only I had a little more time… maybe if I had a time machine… oh boy!
