Denis Lachapelle, chair of Wilkes Comic Con, officially announced that the return of Wilkes Comic Con will be Saturday, February 25, 2023. “The Wilkes Comic Con is back for 2023!” Lachapelle explained. “Celebrating the many elements of pop and geek culture, Wilkes Comic Con has something for everyone! We have the Dragon’s Den Gaming Room, the expanded Cosplay Cavern, our Marketplace, Food trucks, and custom themed cars from throughout the area!”

Wilkes Comic Con Winter 2023 will feature popular comic book artists, craft vendors, collectible dealers, and comic book shops from several states and around the local region. Special guests scheduled to appear include Actor and Artist Matthew Atchley, professional cosplayers Tohma and Duae Cat, artist Chris Flick – co-host of the Nerd Salad podcast and artist of Capes ‘n’ Babes webcomic. Great State Paranormal will return to tell tales to chill your bones, and Neo Monster Island’s Sean McGuinness will be debuting new North Wilkesboro Speedway/Monster themed art.

Guests are encouraged to attend in costume and participate in the cosplay contest. The Cosplay Cavern will host panels focused on beginning cosplayers, unique techniques, LARPing, and Batman!  Other panels will include the always popular “Make your own Plushie with Kai” and “How to Draw a Cartoon Werewolf.” Look for our new addition, the “Thriving Artists Panel”.
