Adam Casey draws things– come of them ain’t half bad! Working digitally as well as with pencil and pen and ink, he’s maybe best known for his annual MerMay series and Inktober drawings. His work touches on sci-fi, fantasy, horror, pop culture, and nostalgia, with an eye towards inclusivity. In 2022, he did 26 shows over 33 days across 4 states in 17 cities, so you may have seen him out and about. He’s called Winston-Salem home since the year 2000.

Chris Flick of Capes & Babes

Chris is a professional illustrator, cartoonist, caricaturist and UI/UX web and graphic designer working in the Washington, DC area.
In 2007, he created the webcomic Capes & Babes featuring Roy the Werewolf and has published five books on Amazon.com. You can read all 1,100 strips at www.capesnbabes.com.
Chris attends several conventions throughout the year where he primarily draws people as cartoon werewolves and other monsters, sells mash-up posters, coloring books, stickers and so much more. Great State Paranormal is one of the top paranormal teams in North Carolina. They offer many various services in the paranormal space. Their most common offering are public paranormal investigations where anyone can experience what it is like to be a paranormal investigator and investigate well known haunted locations. This is a hands-on experience where the public gets to use ghost hunting tools and learn techniques that help get answers from the other side. They also offer private investigations if you believe that your home or property is haunted. They also offer spiritual home cleansings and are able to offer the Rite of Exorcism to assist those who have negative spiritual attachments.
Aside from their passion for working with the paranormal, they are also passionate about preserving local folklore and history. They have assisted with the writing of a book on local ghost stories and are preparing for a YouTube series to launch later this year (Legends, Lore, & More). Hi! My name is Chris Reader and I go by the name Mental Pablum online. I am a freelance artist that does fan art. I like to think of myself as a corporate flunkie that is trying to become a struggling artist. I’ve had a career in retail for close to 30 years, but within the last 3 years decided to get back to drawing all the comic book characters that I love. I took what I was doing started going around to comic shows in the North Carolina area since that is where I live. I sell original art, prints and do commissions upon request. I’m originally from Florida and have been drawing since Junior High School once I really got into comics and decided I wanted to make my own. I was an MP in the US Army before getting into retail. I’ve worked for 3 different Fortune 50 companies in many roles. I enjoy what I do, but love creating art too. I will continue to create art and make it available for sale for people that are interested and enjoy it. I’m not looking to be famous or get into the comic industry at this point in my life. I’m just trying to have fun, be creative and try to get better.

Christian W. Freed was born in Buffalo, N.Y. more years ago than he would like to remember. After spending more than 20 years in the active-duty US Army he has turned his talents to writing. Since retiring, he has gone on to publish over 30 military fantasy and science fiction novels, as well as his memoirs from his time in Iraq and Afghanistan, a children’s book, and a pair of how to books focused on indie authors and the decision-making process for writing a book and what happens after it is published.
His first published book (Hammers in the Wind) has been the #1 free book on Kindle 4 times and he holds a fancy certificate from the L Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest. Ok, so it was for 4th place in one quarter, but it’s still recognition from the largest fiction writing contest in the world. And no, he’s not a scientologist.
Passionate about history, he combines his knowledge of the past with modern military tactics to create an engaging, quasi-realistic world for the readers. He graduated from Campbell University with a degree in history and a Masters of Arts degree in Digital Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
