Cosplay Contest

Wilkes Comic Con is giving our talented attendees a chance to show off their costumes on the stage located in the Marketplace.

Children Under 13 will get to walk the stage, show off their costume, get photographed, and receive a prize.

Teens and Adults Over 13 will get to walk the stage, show off their costume, get photographed, and will be judged.There will be two categories, Craftsmanship and Masquerade. If you are unsure which category your cosplay falls under the cosplay director will be happy to offer advice.

Craftsmanship – Over 50% Handmade. Entries in craftsmanship will be judged on the quality of work that went into the cosplay.

Masquerade – Less than 50% Handmade. Entries in masquerade will be judged on overall appearance.

Please go to the Cosplay Panel Room at 3:00PM. The contest will begin at 4:00PM. You have to show up to win!

Cosplay based on anime, TV, video games, webcomics, original designs, and more are all welcome!

General Rules for the Competition

Be advised that signing up for any cosplay contest is an affirmation that you agree to adhere to the rules presented on the Wilkes Comic Con website as well as any decisions made by the cosplay staff prior to, or during Wilkes Comic Con.

All cosplay events have the potential to be photographed / filmed / recorded in some fashion. The recordings may be used in future galleries or promotions. Signing up for, and /or attending, any cosplay event is done with the understanding that recording could occur at any time, and permission is tacitly given for the participant’s likeness to be used.

All costumes must meet public decency standards with the swimsuit area and bottoms of feet covered.
Participants will refrain from any lewd, political, or hateful speech or actions on stage. Keep it family-friendly!
No projectiles, dangerous props, or messy special effects will be allowed. Waving cloth streamers to represent flames would be fine, spraying silly string for webbing would not! Everything you bring on stage should come off-stage as well.

Signups: There will be a table by the back of the Marketplace at the stage with a signup sheet. You can signup any time from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Prejudging will take place in the Cosplay Panel Room.

We encourage you to show off your skills and points will be given for craftsmanship, but anyone with a costume can sign up to participate and walk the stage.
