Wilkes Comic Con announces date for 2027 and new location
WILKESBORO, N.C. October 14, 2026
Adventura Events officially announced that Wilkes Comic Con is moving its next event to the recently renovated Blue Ridge Outpost, formally known as the Wilkes Mall. The Wilkes Comic Con will be held on February 20, 2027.
Chair Denis Lachapelle, stated, “The Wilkes Comic Con has continued to grow every year. From our first event at the library, through Benton Hall, and the Stone Center, we have continued to expand. With the recent opening of the Blue Ridge Outpost, the convention can double the size of the marketplace. This will allow us to invite more special guests, artists, and vendors, plus provide more room for con attendees.”
Lachapelle explained. “Celebrating the many elements of pop and geek culture, Wilkes Comic Con has something for everyone. In addition to the larger Marketplace, there will also be panels and food trucks.”
Our Cosplay contest gets bigger and better every year! The new Cosplay Cavern is twice the size. Our theme of “Sonic the Hedgehog” promises even more exciting opportunities for you to express your creativity. Multiple prizes will be awarded.
Dragon’s Den, a primary sponsor of the event, will be hosting the game room which will feature: Battletech, Dungeons and Dragons, Magic the Gathering, and other exciting games.
Wilkes Comic Con will be held on Saturday, February 20, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM, at The Blue Ridge Outpost, (formally known as the Wilkes Mall), located at 1605 Curtis Bridge Road, in Wilkesboro. Tickets are available on-line or at the door: $5 for adults; $3 for children; $40 for VIP tickets.
Future updates, including announcements of Special Guests, will be posted to the event’s social media channels and on its website, Wilkescomiccon.com
Mr. Lachapelle also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Stone Center for the Performing Arts for their support for the past five years.
